Compare the MPC1200 and MPC450 CORDURA gaming mousepads: size, glide, and durability. Find out which surface fits your setup and play style.
Quick Answer
Choose the MPC1200 if you need a large, consistent surface for low-sensitivity aiming or wide sweeps. Pick the MPC450 if you want the same CORDURA glide in a compact, budget-friendly size for smaller desks or travel.
Same Surface, Different Footprint
Both the MPC450 and MPC1200 use the same water-resistant CORDURA® surface, so you get the same smooth glide and precise tracking in either size. The real difference is how much room you have to move your mouse.
The MPC450's compact size keeps your setup tidy and leaves extra desk space for your keyboard or other gear. It's also easier to carry, which matters if you attend LAN events or frequently move your workstation.
The MPC1200's generous surface area gives you more freedom for wide mouse movements. That's especially useful if you play at a lower sensitivity and need to make large sweeps without running off the edge.
Durability and Maintenance Trade-Off
Both pads share the same durable, water-resistant CORDURA® material, so spills and everyday wear are less of a concern than with standard cloth pads. That said, the larger MPC1200 simply has more surface area to protect, which may matter if your desk is exposed to drinks or pets.
Cleaning a bigger pad takes a bit more time and effort, but the water-resistant coating makes it easier to wipe down than traditional cloth. The MPC450's smaller footprint is quicker to clean and store when not in use.
MPC1200 vs MPC450: Decision Trade-Offs
- Desk Space: If your desk is cluttered or narrow, the MPC450's compact size keeps things manageable. If you have a large desk and want room to spread out, the MPC1200 uses that space well. Measure your available desk area before choosing.
- Sensitivity and Game Style: Low-sensitivity players who make big arm movements will benefit from the MPC1200's larger surface. High-sensitivity or wrist-aiming players can get the same glide from the smaller MPC450. Think about whether you aim with your wrist or your whole arm.
- Portability and Budget: The MPC450 is the more affordable and portable option, making it a solid first CORDURA pad or a travel companion. The MPC1200 costs more but gives you a more generous playing area. If you attend events or move setups often, the MPC450 is easier to pack.
